NTP File Generation
LINUX Network Time Protocol Service
The LINUX Network Time Protocol Service is used to provide NTP on the sipXecs server.
RedHat files of interest:
/etc/ntp.conf
/var/lib/ntp/drift
/etc/sysconfig/ntpd
/etc/ntp/step-tickers
SUSE files of interest:
/etc/ntp.conf
/etc/sysconfig/ntp
Commands of interest:
service ntpd restart (used if ntp.conf updated)
ntpq -p localhost   (queries the time synchronization status)
Generation of sipXecs NTP files
The initial installation of sipXecs creates the ntp.conf file. When a distributed sipXecs server is created its time is automatically synchronized with the primary sipXecs server in order to ensure that the certificate time/date is valid.
